Below you will find the link to a PowerPoint presentation on how to teach the little lambs star Bodies of Water.

I found this star a bit hard to teach for the little lambs, but I think if you focus on teaching about the sizes of each of the bodies of waters it will help the children get a better understanding, another thing you can teach is what animals live in each of the bodies of water to help them understand how they are different.

I try to always relate what the children are learning about to a bible story, when possible, for this star you can use the story of Jonah, Naaman or the creation. You can also find age-appropriate books at your local library to read to them.

Corderitos - Cuerpos de agua

 

Hola Familias de Aventureros,

Este PowerPoint es para ayudarle a ensenar la especialidad de Cuerpos de agua para la clase de corderitos.

En realidad, esta especialidad se me hace un poco difícil de enseñar a los corderitos. Pero creo que se puede enfocar un poco en los tamaños de un arroyo, un lago, un rio y un océano para que los niños capten un poco la diferencia de cada uno. Otra manera que puede usar para enseñar esta especialidad es enseñándoles que clase de animales vive en cada lugar.

A mí me gusta relacionar la especialidad con una historia bíblica si es posible, en esta especialidad puede usar la historia de Jonás, Naamán, o la creación. También puede buscar libros apropiados para niños en su biblioteca o simplemente los puede usar para mostrarles imagines de los diferentes cuerpos de agua.

Busy Bee Game for " My Self" (feelings)

Kids love board games ! I did some research on line and put a mixture of ideas together and did this emotions board game for the kids to play.
The game consists of acting out different feeling and questions such as "How would that make you  feel? "
We played this game in our last meeting and the kids really enjoyed it.
I also found  some big foam dice at the dollar store and I made the game pieces out of water bottle caps and just added  a different  sticker on top of each cap.

Get organized.

Here is a very simple and easy way to keep track  of  all  your adventurer  club award patches.
Buy some plastic boxes with lots of little compartments to store all the awards. 

You can find this boxes at just about any store.

I separated mine by classes. I have one for little lambs one for eager beavers and then one for each adventurer class. I also have a big one to store all the extra awards patches and the class pins.

The Life Cycle of a Honey Bee

Here's another great find from Michael's. This is the life cycle of a honey bee.  It can also be used for the Little Lambs "insects" star and for the Busy Bee class.  Again this learning toy is very realistic and a great visual aid for the children.  You can check them out at safariltd.com for more great toys.
